Lyrics
Looking Down – By Esther Bertram Performed by POST
As the waves roll in no need to question
Think of all the other ways this could have gone
As we rise and fall can we appreciate it all?
When we’re looking down
When we’re looking down
Let it flow like water
Let it go just like the weather
Let it flow like water
Let it go just like the weather, the weather, the weather
You’ve never seen this world I’ve walked before you
Think of all the precious times we could have shared
As I make this choice my heart is broken but it’s with you
As you’re looking down
As you’re looking down
Let it flow like water
Let it go just like the weather
Let it flow like water
Let it go just like the weather, the weather, the weather
You’re on the other side looking down
You’re on the other side
You’re on the other side looking down
You’re on the other side
Let it flow like water
Let it go just like the weather
Let it flow like water
Let it go just like the weather, the weather, the weather
Story
Looking Down is about the lives we can almost see but will never live — the roads not taken, the people we might have become, and the futures that disappear when we make the choices we know we have to make.
Some decisions can be right and still carry grief. Sometimes moving forward means looking down at another version of your life and knowing you can never go back to it
The rest belongs inside the song.
Looking Down
A song for the things that might have been — and the hard choices that mean they never will.
